The Lost Disneyland Waterpark
Updated: May 5, 2020
Last week I met with a supposed Disney-insider, code-named "Outboundflight". This week, my source has another interesting project to share...
It seems friends, that Disney was at one point planning on building a water park. The plan, which occurred simultaneous to last week's Tomorrowland redux and Galaxy's Edge (the latter which was chosen) would see New England entering the Disneyland Resort, with the park named "Port Disney".
"We were thinking, what do we do with a Disneyland Water Park? We can't just do Typhoon [Lagoon] or Blizzard [Beach] again... that's when we realized where [Walt Disney] World had Liberty Square, [Disney] land had nothing the type".
This plan went so far it even received a full site, which would have linked to Disneyland Resort's regular site for the announcement broadcast. You can see a detailed map, which would have eventually been replaced with a more professional computer model, below.
Luckily, Outbound has come to rescue once again, having backed up the site on his own personal wix site. You can find the site here.
How interesting!
