The Monkey King - Shanghai's Best Ride Yet?

There's much more than meets the eye to this attraction.

I know I'm a bit late to the party here, as just over a year ago, Disneyland Shanghai celebrated an expansion to Fantasyland with the Monkey King Dark Ride. I didn't cover it at that time because it was far off, and it did not seem like a huge deal.

Boy, was I wrong. On a return trip from Mumbai Disneyland's grand opening, I was able to visit Shanghai Disneyland, and the Monkey King dark ride proved to be a hidden gem.

Words cannot describe this attraction: you must experience it for yourself. Well, perhaps a few well-worded parts might do. Because as it turns out, my good friend Imagineering insider "Outbound" shared with me a presentation description, which was used to convince the Chinese Government to green-lit the project.

You can find this slide here. It is the best explanation of the ride without visiting. Again, I'd highly recommend not reading this and going on the ride yourself, but considering how far away Shanghai is to most my audience, I understand if that's simply not possible.
